Amazing Health Benefits of Night Jasmine (Raat Ki Rani)

Night jasmine, known by various names like raat ki rani, parijaat, harsingar, and night-blooming jasmine, is a small flower with a pleasant scent. But you will be surprised to know that it is not only beautiful, but also packed with various health benefits.

Dr Dixa Bhasvar posted on Instagram about the many health benefits of night jasmine. The botanical name for night jasmine is Nyctanthes arbor-tristis.

The plant has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Here are some other health benefits of these little white flowers.

Sciatica


Take three-four leaves, crush them and boil them with water. Drain and drink twice a day on an empty stomach to relieve sciatica pain.

Arthritis


Take the leaves, flowers and bark and add them to 200 ml of water. Now boil until the water reduces to 1/4, or 50 ml. Make it hot.

Dry cough


Take the dry leaves and grind them in a mortar and pestle. Now extract the juice and add it with honey to relieve dry cough.

Colds, coughs and sinuses


Drink tea made by boiling leaves and flowers in water. You can also add some tulsi leaves. Drink this as a tea for cough and sinus relief.

Intestinal worms


Take out two teaspoons of juice by crushing the leaves and do it with a little mishri and water.

Fever


Take 3 grams of bark and 2 grams of leaves with 2-3 tulsi leaves. Boil it in water and drink it twice a day.

Anxiety


Nighttime jasmine oil is used in aromatherapy to relieve stress and anxiety. It helps by increasing the levels of serotonin in the brain and by regulating mood.

Pain and swelling


Boil leaves in water and drink them once a day to reduce any kind of pain and swelling in the body.
