Arsenal news LIVE: Arteta SNUBS Barcelona interested, Saka BACK in training ahead of Zurich clash – latest

Hello Arsenal fans!

Gabriel Martinelli has left a huge clue about his future at Arsenal.

Speaking on a potential new contract, he told reporters at Arsenal’s pre-Zurich press conference: “I want to stay, they just need to give me a pen.

He added: “I am very happy at Arsenal. I’ve said it many times, I love being here. I love the city, I love everything about Arsenal so I want to stay.

“Yeah, I just need a pen.”

Elsewhere, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is reportedly being lined up by Barcelona as a potential future replacement for Xavi.

The Blaugrana head coach is under pressure at Camp Nou after his side were kicked out of the Champions League.

And according to Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona are already preparing for the future with the club ‘stamping’ Arteta’s name as a potential successor.

Arteta guided the Gunners to the top of the Premier League table after 12 games, with his side dropping points in just two games.

And that has caught the attention of Barca, who are reportedly keen to bring him back to Catalonia with Arteta previously in the club’s youth roster.

Meanwhile, Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka has overcome his injury problem and can play against Zurich.

The Spaniard also gave an update on the physical condition of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Mohamed Elneny after their recent absence.

He said: “Bukayo just missed one or two sessions and was fine today.

“They are obviously at different stages. Mo (Elneny) had a long term injury but he has now recovered in a very good way and has been training with the team for a week or two now.

“Alex (Zinchenko) is brand new and he’s had two training sessions.”
