Arteta has wonderful news on the £25million Arsenal ace

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta told the official club website that there are no problems with the fitness of left-back Kieran Tierney.

Arteta commented on Arsenal defender Tierney after the Gunners’ pre-season friendly against Nuremberg on Friday.

The former Celtic left-back was only able to play 30 minutes of the game.

Arsenal won 5-3.

Tierney, who cost Arsenal £25m in transfer fees (BBC Sports), missed the final weeks of last season with a knee problem.

However, there are no issues with the 25-year-old at the moment, according to Arsenal manager Arteta, who added that the defender has trained very well.

Mikel Arteta on Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney

Arteta told Arsenal official site on Tierney: “He’s really good. He trained very well.

“Obviously he’s been out for over three months now, so we wanted to give him a good warm-up, play the first half hour and then get him out.

“So he was in good condition and there are no problems there.”

wonderful news

In our opinion, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s comments on Kieran Tierney are wonderful and very encouraging for the fans.

They are expected to allay Arsenal supporters’ fears over the Scottish international left-back’s fitness.

Tierney is one of the best left-backs in the Premier League but the 25-year-old has struggled with injuries so far during his time at Arsenal.

For Arsenal to finish in the top four of the Premier League next season and also make an impact in the UEFA Europa League, Tierney needs to be fit and shooting.
