New Delhi: National Mountaineering Day is celebrated on August 1 to highlight the importance and benefits of mountaineering. On August 1, 2015, Bobby Matthews and his friend Josh Madigan created history by climbing all 46 peaks of the Adirondack Mountains and successfully reaching the final peak called Whiteface Mountain. It is a day to honor them and their contribution. These two climbers were then introduced to the Adirondack 46er Club.
