British breaststroke legend Adam Peaty heads to Florida for training camp
British Olympic champion and world record holder Peaty adam is on the move and is currently traveling to Florida for intense block training.
“Florida here we come” is the sentiment behind Peaty’s Instagram story posted today, January 8.
Speaking to SwimSwam, Peaty, 27, reveals he will be training at the Deerfield and Pompano Beach Aquatic Centers for the next 3 weeks. Both cities are located in Broward County located in Southeast Florida, just outside Fort Lauderdale.
“The goal of the camp is to get in shape and get some sun as this is my first training camp since Australia in January 2020,” Peaty told us today.
After repeatedly winning Olympic gold in the 100m breaststroke this summer at the Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, Peaty took a break in the pool and tried out competing on the dance floor instead. Father and son George tried his hand at UK celebrity dance TV show Come dance strictly, where it came out before the final.
Post-TV Celebrity, Peaty and Longtime Coach Mel marshall unveiled their latest project titled “Project Immortal”. The effort represents the couple’s quest to throw in a 100m breaststroke marker that will not only lower the world record, but set a benchmark to withstand the test of time.
