These joint C-IED training opportunities take place twice a week, allowing FAN and US forces to hone and strengthen their skills, enabling increased security and stability for the Government of Niger and its citizens.

“The wide range of knowledge and skills needed to effectively combat the ever-changing IED landscape requires both focused and frequent training,” said a 409th Air Expeditionary explosive ordnance disposal team leader. “With strong training recurrence also comes the camaraderie and confidence needed to operate in life-or-death environments.”

Over the past two decades, IEDs have become synonymous with battlefield conflict and are regularly used by our adversaries.

“Air Force EOD teams continue their efforts to conduct joint training, which not only provides opportunities for knowledge exchange and skill development, but also ensures the safety of DoD and partner force personnel, our facilities and our resources,” the 409th AEG EOD team leader said.
