Easter egg hunts, spring carnivals and other activities in Doña Ana County

LAS CRUCES – Easter is fast approaching on Sunday, April 17, and with it, community Easter egg hunts and appearances by the Easter Bunny himself. Check out this list of fun local activities for kids and adults.

Photos with the Easter Bunny at Mesilla Valley Mall

The Easter bunny has taken over the Mesilla Valley Mall for a few weeks and is available to take pictures. It will be inside the mall in front of Cineport 10 until April 16. The Bunny is available 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Egg My Yard by The Frank Family

Interested in the fun of Easter egg hunting but not the hassle? Contact the Frank family in Las Cruces for candy deviled eggs and a note from the Easter Bunny. Call them at 210-598-6393 to place your order. The eggs will be delivered on the night of April 15 to 16. Offers include:

  • $25 for 30 eggs
  • $45 for 50 eggs
  • $65 for 70 eggs

FIT4MOM’s first egg hunt

The Las Cruces Fitness Group is hosting its first spring-themed stroller rides with an egg hunt to follow at 10 a.m. on April 15 at Young Park. Participants are asked to bring 10 plastic eggs filled with non-candy items and an Easter basket.

Good Friday Easter Egg Hunt

The First Community Church is hosting a free Easter Egg Hunt from 6-7:30 p.m. on April 15 at their location, 4895 W. Picacho Ave. Children ages 0-12 are invited to enjoy bouncy houses, games, crafts and more.

“Massive” Easter Egg Hunt with KT Homes

Las Cruces homebuilders, KT Homes, are inviting the community to a “massive” egg hunt at 9 a.m. on April 16 at Rincon Hills Park at 3945 Pacific Loop. Games, prizes and a photo booth will all be on site.

Market-Wide Easter Egg Hunt

A fun scavenger hunt is planned for April 16 downtown at the Las Cruces Farmer’s and Craft Market. Easter eggs will be hidden throughout the market for people to find from 8:30 a.m. while supplies last. The Easter Bunny will also be at the corner of Las Cruces Avenue and Main Street from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Easter Egg Hunt at Pioneer Women’s Park

St. Paul’s United Methodist Church is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt from 10 a.m. to noon on April 16 at Pioneer Women’s Park. People are welcome to bring their Easter baskets and participate in the free party. Food, games, crafts and the Easter Bunny will also be available.

2022 City Parks and Recreation Spring Festival

On April 16, Young Park will be filled with waves of egg-hunting children. Children are invited to join in the fun from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. during their respective age groups. Several local radio stations will also have a presence at the park, at 1905 Nevada Ave. The schedule includes:

  • 10 a.m.: Children 0-2
  • 11 a.m.: People with special needs
  • 11:30 a.m.: Children 3-4
  • 12:30 p.m.: Children 5-8
  • 1:30 p.m.: Children 9-12
  • 2 p.m.: Throwing adult eggs

Community Egg Hunt at Tony Gomez Park

Las Cruces First Church of the Nazarene is hosting a free community Easter Egg Hunt at 4 p.m. on April 16 at Tony Gomez Park. The park is located at 2283 S Espina St., between University Avenue and Missouri Avenue.

The event is free and open to the public. The church said there will be 5,000 eggs and lots of prizes available, along with food.

Eggstravaganza Easter Celebration at Vado Speedway Park

Head to Vado on Saturday afternoon April 16 for Vado Speedway’s annual Easter celebration. The park, at 15900 Stern Drive in Vado, hosts the Easter Bunny in the lobby from 5-7 p.m. and an egg hunt at 6 p.m.

Winged Sprint Cars, B-Mods, Super Trucks, Legends and Pure Stocks will also be there. Gates open at 5 p.m. and racing begins at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $15 for adults; $12 for seniors, military and students; and $8 for youth ages 6-11. Children 5 and under admitted free.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch Buffet at NMSU Golf Course

Head to the New Mexico State University Golf Course and Player’s Grill for a special Easter brunch on April 17. Food and games will be available for everyone, and children will have the chance to hunt eggs on the course. Call 575-646-4801 to make a reservation. Seating starts at 10:30 a.m.

Participation is $12 for children ages 2 to 12 and $28 for adults.

T-Mobile’s Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt

Metro by T-Mobile is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday that will take participants to 12 locations around Las Cruces. Four prizes are up for grabs, including wireless headphones and wireless speakers.

Head to their location at 590 S. Solano Dr. Suite E from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on April 17 to pick up a map. You don’t need to be a T-Mobile customer to participate

Hunt for Adults and Kids at Rio Grande Winery

Rio Grande Winery, 5321 N. Highway 28, Las Cruces, is holding Easter egg hunts for children and adults at 2 p.m. April 17. Live music will be played by “Steppin’ Up” and 100 prizes are up for grabs.
