Ex-FRSC boss Oyeyemi charges marshals with sports activities
Retired Marshal of the Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi has called on corps personnel to take sports activities seriously.
Oyeyemi said it was necessary for them to stay physically fit and healthy, and to perform their jobs optimally.
He gave advice on Saturday during his retirement golf pot organized by Tukur Yusuf Buratai International Golf and Country Club, Abuja.
“It’s good for a person to stay fit, so as a staff you need to maintain that fitness so your system can be in good shape.
“I encourage staff and all Nigerians to adopt fitness exercises, to make them healthier and more productive in their workplaces,” he said.
Oyeyemi expressed hope that more marshals will embrace golf, so that “within two to three years we will have professionals among them.”
The captain of the TYB Golf and Country Club, Brigadier General. Mohammed Bello described Oyeyemi as a great Nigerian who graciously contributed to the growth of the FRSC and the club as a whole.
Bello said the club was intended for FCT golfers, armed forces and other security service personnel, and the general public.
He said the FRSC had been very active in the club, adding that during Oyeyemi’s tenure, around 27 FRSC golfers had become members of the club.
“Being a golfer and also someone who respects sports activities, he thought it was wise to bring in members of Road Safety.
