park it host, Sameera Luthman is on hand at Naperville Park Neighborhoods magnificent Fort Hill Activity Center. She is joined by Fitness Manager Kristina McGrath will discuss the benefits of exercise for mental health and well-being. The duo talks about the critical mind/body connection and ssome of many rewards of regularly moving your body, including:

  • How exercise helps you connect with others.
  • Why being healthy and active makes you feel good and tends to boost self-esteem.
  • Why “unplugging” literally and figuratively on a regular basis is the key to overall well-being.

Sameera and Kristina also discuss how starting an exercise goal can feel overwhelming, which can cause many people to quit before they’ve barely started, and offer suggestions on how to make it more manageable. Finally, they cover some additional benefits of regular exercise (improved sleep, improved mental focus, and improved physical health), which have a huge impact on overall happiness and well-being.

About Fort Hill Activity Center

The Fort Hill Activity Center offers a wide range of indoor recreational activities, sports, fitness and wellness programs. Located at the corner of Quincy Avenue and Fort Hill Drive, the nearly 80,000 square foot facility includes:

  • Over 8,600 square feet of fitness space
  • 4 multipurpose rooms
  • A coffee
  • “Le Fort” daycare center & covered playground
  • A gym
  • Walking/jogging track
  • Studios with wooden floor
