Lakshmi Manchu nails this Kalaripayattu position and mentions its benefits
Telugu actress and TV presenter Lakshmi Manchu is a fitness fanatic and always eager to learn new skills. When she is not an actress, she is often noticed in the gym, training hard and always ready to experiment with different types of exercises like martial arts, kickboxing, yoga or any other high intensity training.
Commanding a huge following on social media, the Nandi award winner frequently showcases her high-intensity workout routines to effective yoga asanas on Instagram.
The actress is currently taking lessons in Kalaripayattu, a popular form of martial arts practiced in India and said to have originated in Kerala. Considered among the oldest and most scientific martial arts in the world, it helps improve body flexibility and improves concentration. It is also beneficial for mental health, promoting concentration and boosting body awareness.
Lakshmi Manchu, daughter of veteran actor Mohan Babu, recently posted a photo on Instagram performing a cat position, known as Maarjara Vaidu.

In his article, Lakshmi mentioned the benefits of Maarjara Vaidu posture by writing that this posture requires body flexibility and also helps improve ranges of motion. Also, it helps to develop coordination of mind and body and also helps in gaining control over the mind.
“This posture [symbolises] a cat before swooping down on its prey. This pose helps achieve body flexibility while taking control of your mind,” she said in the caption of her post.
Lakshmi also thanked Krishnadas Vallabhatta, her trainer, for guiding her to learn incredible skills.
Professionally, Lakshmi Manchu was last seen in the anthology drama Pitta Kathalu which was Netflix’s first Telugu original film. Released in 2021, the film also starred Shruti Haasan, Eesha Rebba, Amala Paul, Jagapathi Babu, and Ashima Narwal.
