Leeds United youngster Dani van den Heuvel back in training after surgery

Young Leeds United goalkeeper Dani van den Heuvel posted a message on his Instagram Story after finally returning to training.

The young Whites sensation fractured his neck and jaw bones in a car accident which required him to undergo surgery.

He is now back involved in Marcos Abad’s goalkeeper sessions at Thorp Arch and trained alongside first-choice keeper Illan Meslier.

The youngster posted a brilliant message on Instagram with the caption: “Back to training”.

Good news

It’s really good news that the youngster is back in training. We see him taking goalkeeping exercises, but injuries have cost him a few months of action.

Los Blancos signed him in 2020 and he has a contract with the club which runs until 2023.

Obviously, it will take more time for him to get back to full fitness, but he hopes he will return to play as soon as possible.

The last thing a youngster hoping for a breakthrough needs is an injury, but it could have been much worse.

Heuvel will have to compete with Klaesson and Harry Christy for a place in the side, and the club will make sure he is on the right track.

Leeds badly need to find a reliable backup for Meslier. The side’s senior players like Meslier and Joel Robles could pass on their experience which can help the Dutchman grow as a player.

In other Leeds United news, Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta have started scanning the market for potential upgrades on Jesse Marsch at Elland Road
