Nadal looks set for Madrid Open; displays stellar fitness levels during the workout

After being out for six weeks with a rib injury, Spanish ace Rafael Nadal will mark his return to the Madrid Open next week.

Meanwhile, video footage of Nadal training at his academy has been shared on their Instagram story, where the 35-year-old looks set to return to his favorite hunting ground – the clay court.

“Although I arrive just before and the preparation is difficult, I really want to play and play at home because the opportunities are few. Try to do it in the best way possible. See you in Madrid”, Nadal said on Twitter on Tuesday, sparking enthusiasm from his fans.

The 2022 Australian Open champion has already missed two of his most successful clay-court campaigns in Monte Carlo and Barcelona. After appearing at the Madrid Open this year, Nadal will travel to the Italian Open in Rome, where he is the defending champion, before collecting the trophy at Roland Garros and claiming the 14th title.
