Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies was spotted at the Hotspur Way training ground earlier today as he looks to speed up his recovery from injury.

The Wales international suffered an ankle injury after falling awkwardly late in Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Sevilla last Saturday and returned to the UK on Sunday with a protective boot (evening standard).

Until yesterday, the center half had not set foot on the training ground but earlier today was seen outside with fitness trainer Stefano Bruno (Getty).

Spurs boss Antonio Conte has already ruled the 29-year-old out of tomorrow’s pre-season friendly against Rangers in Glasgow and hopes he will recover in time to be considered for selection when Southampton are the visitor to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium in August. 6th for the first Premier League game of the new campaign.

Davies’ absence will give Clement Lenglet the chance to get plenty of minutes in what will be his first appearance for Spurs since joining from Barcelona.

Lenglet was unable to make the trip to South Korea due to his late arrival at Tottenham, he was unable to obtain a visa in time and will now have the opportunity to prove to some of the disappointed fans upon his arrival that ‘he can be counted on this season.
