YES. SO MOST PEOPLE THINK OF SPRING AND SUMMER WHEN THEY THINK OF GARDENING. I’M PROBABLY ONE OF THESE PEOPLE. SO WHAT MAKES AUTUMN SUCH AN OPTIMAL TIME FOR PLANTING FOLLOWS FOR THE MAIN REASON THAT PLANTS ACTUALLY GROW ROOT CYCLE. AND IF YOU DO IT, THEY DO IT IN THE FALL AND THEN IN THE SPRING. So by planting in the fall, the plants can be even more established and ready to face our typical summer drought. THAT’S WHY WE ALWAYS SAY BOTH PLANTING TIME AND WE SAY WE WANT TO TALK MORE ABOUT THIS PLANT SALE. A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE WAITING FOR THIS. WHICH PLANTS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON SATURDAY? WE HAVE, I THINK, OVER 120 DIFFERENT TYPES OF PLANTS. WE HAVE TREES, WE HAVE SHRUBS, PERENNIALS, OILS, SOME HOUSE PLANTS, SOME HERBS JUST A LOT NEVER A BIT OF EVERYTHING. WE HAVE MANY GOOD NATO PLANTS FOR POLLINATORS. SO WE REALLY TRY TO CHECK ALL BOXES WITH PLANTS. THEY WILL BE AND NOW THEY WILL ALSO BE WORKSHOPS AND ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE SEASON. CAN YOU TELL US MORE? YEAH WE HAVE OUR TUESDAY GARDENING SERIES WHICH AS A LONG STORY WITH FERN ALL GARDENS WE ALWAYS TRY TO MIX IT UP EVERY WE HAVE A CLASS COMING ON THE HOLIDAY IT’S THE 27TH AND MONARCH ON MONARCH BREEDING AT HOME WE’ GOT PLANTS ON INDOOR SEEDS STARTING ANOTHER ON HERBS AND THEIR CULINARY CONNECTIONS. TERRARIUM WORKSHOP. AND THEN AT THE END OF THE SEASON WE HAVE OUR VERY ANTICIPATED PRODUCTS THAT HAVE BECOME FAMILY TRADITIONS AND WE HAVE TWO MORE OPEN THAT IS. 29 AND 30 NOVEMBER, AND THESE TAKE PLACE AT THE VILLAGE BARN. Reynolda Gardens will host a plant sale, workshops and the Tuesday Gardening Series, where people can develop their skills and learn from local gardeners. The Tuesday Gardening Series talks start at 12:30 p.m. and can be joined in person or virtually. They last about an hour, according to Reynolda. Jon Roethling, director of Reynolda Gardens, says fall is an optimal time for planting.
