Spring activities in Boston | boston.gov

This month, we’re highlighting healthy activities and events to celebrate the arrival of spring.

As the weather warms, many find themselves restless with the winter cold and looking for ways to reconnect with the world around them. Although COVID-19 is not a threat and we encourage you to follow the recommendations of your trusted healthcare professionals for continued protection against the virus and any future variants, past COVID restrictions have been largely reduced or eliminated at Boston for the time being, allowing for the reopening of major Boston institutions and sources of entertainment and education. After the anxiety and stress of the past two years, many see this as an opportunity not only to reconnect and visit friends and family, but to reintroduce themselves to Boston’s rich culture through its museums, celebrations, food and activities. Below are several major highlights to consider:

Boston offers many exceptional museums for individuals and families. Visit the websites listed below to learn more:

  • The Boston Marathon, scheduled for April 18, 2022, is a great outdoor celebration across the city to celebrate Boston pride and the athleticism and determination of participants each year.
  • Our very own Department of Parks and Recreation is continuing their series of free fitness classes, follow their page for an ongoing schedule of free fitness classes.
  • How many times have you explored or experienced your own city as a tourist? Take a trolley tour and see historic downtown Boston and more, or a duck tour for excellent sightseeing views on land and water!

As always, if you need help managing stress or adjusting to changing seasons, we at the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) are here to help. Have a warm and safe month of April.
