The West Wight Sports and Community Center will be open for free activities as part of National Fitness Day.

The WEST Wight Sports and Community Center will open tomorrow (Wednesday) to offer free activities to everyone as part of National Fitness Day 2022.

National Fitness Day will see a series of free events and taster sessions taking place across the UK under the theme ‘Fitness United Us’.

The Freshwater Sports and Community Center will host activities including an introductory circuit class session at 9 a.m. and a chance to try out equipment throughout the day.

Under the theme Fitness Unites Us, the organizers of the ukactive campaign are encouraging fitness, sport and leisure providers across the UK to demonstrate the inclusive power of physical activity to bring people of all backgrounds together in every community .

The challenges posed by the cost of living crisis and the pandemic mean many people in the UK face tough choices every day, but by coming together through fitness we can find the mental strength to help us cope.

You can get involved by posting photos or posts on social media in preparation for National Fitness Day, using #FitnessDay.

Clare Griffin, Center Director, said: “Here at the West Wight Sports and Community Center we can help you take the first step towards improving your physical and mental health, as well as connecting with people. other people in the community.

“There is a huge range of options for everyone to try, with staff on hand to inspire and support you no matter what stage you are at.”
