Watch: Neeraj Chopra’s Rigorous Gym Workout

The Tokyo Olympics gold medalist shared a video to Instagram on Sunday in which he can be seen doing a rigorous workout in a gym.

In the video, captioned “Effort and hard work have no substitutes,” Chopra can be seen participating in a plethora of physical activities to stay in shape.

A few weeks ago, it was reported that the javelin thrower had landed at the elite training facility in Chula Vista, Calif. To resume training.

“I lost 5.5 kilograms and a half in 20 odd days,” Chopra said at a year-end press meeting. But hitting the track after a long break wasn’t as smooth as the Olympic champion would have liked.

“When I got back from the Olympics, I didn’t put any restrictions on my diet. I had been controlling my eating habits for a very long time, thinking I had to hold back until I was successful in Tokyo, ”he said.

“I really like my Indian cuisine… Maine sab kuch khaya (I ate everything). After the Olympics, I gained 12-13 kilograms. I lost 5 kg and reached my normal weight out of season. It has been about 20 days since resuming training and I have reduced that number. It was really difficult at first. My body was aching and I had to put extra effort into everything.

Neeraj is preparing for the World Championships, the Diamond League, the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games, all of which are scheduled to take place this year.

Chopra was pleased with the progress he has made since returning to training. The overseas training, he said, also helped him stay more focused than he would have been had he stayed in India.

“Patiala was really cold and I was getting too many wedding invitations,” he said.

“When you go out to train, you just train and rest and barely go out. When you train (abroad) all of your attention is on your sport. We have to follow a real athletic life and we have to give 100 percent. The weather is also fine now, ”he said.
